About
CT Play Toys & Collectibles was founded on a simple belief:
great merchandise should respect the fans.
That respect shows up in honest quality and in making experiences that feel intentional rather than disposable. We believe merchandise should feel considered — something that makes sense for the brand it represents and for the people who choose to own it.
To us, merchandise isn’t just an output. It’s part of a relationship between a brand and its audience, and it deserves the same level of thought and care.
We specialize in a large assortment of custom collectibles spanning multiple categories from toys and collectibles to home goods, apparel and accessories. Vinyl figures, resin statues, bobbleheads, plushies, bag charms, kitchenware, home décor… the possibilities are endless.

The fans come first
We care deeply about your fans. If they are genuinely excited to receive something — if it feels well-made, thoughtfully designed, and worth keeping — then the project has succeeded.
This perspective guides every decision we make, from materials and finishes to production methods and packaging. When the fans are considered at every step, the final product resonates more strongly and holds its value over time. And most importantly, it doesn’t end up in a landfill.
A hands-on partner
CT Play works differently than a traditional merch agency. We don’t simply take a design and send it to a factory. We act as an active partner throughout the process, helping shape the product itself.
That means reviewing options, explaining trade-offs, and identifying opportunities to improve quality or longevity. If something could be done better, we’ll say so. Our role is to bring clarity and experience to the table, so our partners can make informed, confident decisions.
Small Team.
Big Capability.
We operate as a small, lean studio by design. This allows us to be as efficient as possible while ensuring there is enough hands on deck.
Behind the scenes, we collaborate with an expansive and trusted network of designers, sculptors and production partners — each a specialist in their field. Depending on the needs of a project, we assemble the right team to support it, scaling thoughtfully while keeping creative direction and quality control tightly managed.
What does CT Mean?
CT stands for Colour Theory — the foundation of how colours are created and combined. In printing and design, the core colours Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black (CMYK) can be mixed to produce virtually any colour imaginable.
We chose the name Colour Theory because it reflects how we work. Just like colour begins with a few simple elements that can become anything, every collectible begins with an idea. From pen-and-paper concepts to fully realized products, we help bring creative visions to life.
Our brand colours — black, cyan, magenta, and yellow — are a nod to this process: a reminder that with the right foundation, anything can be created.
Smart costing &
Real-world budgets
Our small-team structure plays a key role in how we approach costing.
By staying lean and making intentional decisions, we help brands strike the right balance between cost, quality, and ambition. We focus on where investment truly matters, where efficiencies can be found, and how to achieve great results without unnecessary complexity.
A core part of our role is helping brands understand their options. We explain trade-offs, explore alternatives, and work collaboratively to hit target budgets while still delivering products that feel considered, premium, and true to the original vision.

Certifications &
compliance
CT Play works with manufacturing facilities that are SMETA and/or BSCI certified.
SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) and BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) are globally recognized social compliance audit standards used by major entertainment and consumer brands. Both assess manufacturing facilities across key areas including:
- ethical labor practices
- health and safety standards
- environmental responsibility
- business integrity
While both standards evaluate similar compliance areas, SMETA is even more valuable to major licensors. A valid SMETA audit can frequently support immediate FAMA (Facility and Merchandise Authorization) approval, without requiring an additional on-site audit by the licensor.
This helps streamline the licensing and production process while ensuring all required standards are already met.
By partnering with SMETA-certified facilities when appropriate, we help reduce risk, remove friction, and give our clients confidence that their products are being produced responsibly and in line with top-tier licensing expectations.
Why it matters
Fans notice when something feels rushed, generic, or made without care. Merchandise is an extension of the brand — and of the trust between a creator and their audience.
Our job is to protect that trust. By staying thoughtful, transparent, and detail-oriented, we help our partners create products that fans are proud to own — not just purchase.
